Happy Birthday Granny...

It was my Granny's birthday in December so I made a little card with some watercolour paint and I also sent her some of her favourite homemade ginger biscuits for a tasty birthday treat!

Log Cabin Cake...

My lovely friend Jen turns 22 on the 6th of January and it's become quite a tradition that she comes to my house on Christmas Eve Eve for lunch as a "pre-birthday" celebration. As I can't always spend the day with Jen on her birthday, I like to make her a special cake and this year was no exception! Last year saw the creation of a cheeky cat but my architectural cake skills have advanced since then so this year's challenge was a chocolate log cabin! Complete with tiled roof and our family christmas decorations. I think we were both pretty chuffed with the results!!!

Another year older...

This month sees the birthday of Miss Natasha Louise Pitt a dear friend from back home. She is the grand old age of 22 and I made her a sock dog as a present, finished off with a little warm red scarf! Love you lots Pitt, many happy returns.

May the force be with you...

Today it was my good friend Elspeth's birthday. She is a big fan of Star Wars so what better way to celebrate the occasion than with a Star Wars themed birthday card and the Stars Wars Cookbook!

Miss Emma Jayne Baylis...

(The canvas bag)

It was my good friend Emma's birthday not so long ago and I wanted to make her something which would be a nice keepsake for her 21st birthday. I decided to do an illustration of her and her initials and to print it onto a canvas shopping bag. Pretty and practical!

Kat's Flowery Cushion...

My good friend and housemate Kat celebrated her 21st birthday the other day and she's a very crafty lady so I wanted to make her something equally creative for her birthday. I decided to make her a cushion for her room and a hand cut card. The cushion took me a little longer than originally planned, but I got there in the end! Here are the fruits of my labour...

Happy Birthday Grandad...

It's my Grandad's birthday tomorrow. Like every year, I have no idea how old he is and this year is no different! I made him a card using bits and pieces from my collage box and it sits on my grandparents bureau waiting to be opened. He's so sweet, the other day he was telling me all about his time in India as a soldier and how on leave, him and his friends went horse riding up into the mountains. I don't think we appreciate the awesomeness of our grandparents sometimes. The lives they led when they were our age and the people they met. Next time I see him he's going to show me all his photographs from India. I can't wait to go back in time with him. Happy Birthday Grandad... you're amazing as ever!

Introducing the talented Miss Caitlin Ashton...

Well I turned the grand old age of 21 last thursday. I had a lovely day and my best friend Jen threw me a surprise "jungle themed" party which was amazing! Coconuts, snake jelly and pin the tail on the baboon were involved in the proceedings! I also received lots of lovely cards from all my friends and family including a beautiful postcard (above) from my illustrator friend Miss Caitlin Ashton. She is currently studying at the University of Bath and is flipping amazing! Her work is so wonderful so check out her tumblr please!

Keeping your ipod cosy...

Last summer I learnt to knit and although I can only do very basic stuff compared to the likes of my mum and granny, I love making things. My sister's husband Martin bought her an ipod classic last Christmas and what better accessory to have than a little sock to keep it safe! So for my sister's birthday I made her a pink ipod sock and finished it off with a little wooden button. Thank you Martin for the wonderful pictures above!!!
