Gwyneth Paltrow - Notes from my Kitchen Table...

This summer whilst browsing the cookery section in my local library (as I do very often!) I came across a new cook book by Gwyneth Paltrow. I'm always a little dubious when it comes to cookery books by celebrities seeing as these days just about everyone has one! However, after a little flick through I thought I would take it home. There are some lovely recipes in there and it's nice to read a bit about where her influences come from too. The first thing that caught my eye was the recipe for Fish Tacos. It sounded really different and really delicious. So, after a quick jaunt to the shops for ingredients, I set about making the tasty feast for dinner.

I have to say that I varied the recipe slightly. So, we ended up, with battered haddock, corn tortillas, chopped gem lettuce (instead of salted cabbage), diced tomatoes (instead of salsa), lime mayo and fresh guacamole. The results were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by my mum and I. Can't wait to make some more things out of there!

Four Dwellings Christmas Concert...

My lovely sister recently asked me for a little favour. Would I design a poster, programme and tickets for the Christmas concert at her school this December and they all needed to be black and white for easy photocopying. I was more than happy to and snapped up the opportunity! It was really fun and hopefully it'll add a bit of seasonal fun to the proceedings!

Miss Emma Jayne Baylis...

(Above: Original Drawing)

(The canvas bag)

It was my good friend Emma's birthday not so long ago and I wanted to make her something which would be a nice keepsake for her 21st birthday. I decided to do an illustration of her and her initials and to print it onto a canvas shopping bag. Pretty and practical!

Houses for SALE! My first stockist!

Today I am going to the Post Office, to post a box of my felt house brooches to two, lovely ladies in Glasgow who want to sell them in their shop! I actually have a stockist! The wonderful We are Made in the Shade.

WEC Work Experience...

Front Cover

Double page spread entitled, "How to make a missions noticeboard."

Double page spread entitled, "Networking for Christ in Turkey."

This summer I have been lucky enough to do some voluntary work at the organisation WEC (http://www.wec-int.org.uk) working with their in house graphic designer. She asked me to do a some illustrations for two articles in their quarterly magazine as well as a book cover for a new publication about the history of WEC. The book cover is still in progress but the illustrations have been printed in the next issue of the magazine which I'm going to collect this week. So excited! The people at WEC are truly amazing and I feel so privileged to have had the opportunity to work with them.
