Christmas Craft Fair...
A few of us at University decided to have a little Christmas Craft Fair to sell some of things we make in our spare time. I shared a stall with my friend Jen and we sold a range of festive goodies!

Another year older...
This month sees the birthday of Miss Natasha Louise Pitt a dear friend from back home. She is the grand old age of 22 and I made her a sock dog as a present, finished off with a little warm red scarf! Love you lots Pitt, many happy returns.

Verklarte Nacht...
In a recent uni project we had to explore the relationship between 2D and 3D. I decided to go for something a little different and produced a paper cut scene based on the German poem Verklarte Nacht. I braved the woodwork workshop and with the help from a lovely gentleman called Craig, made a wooden box to slot my designs into. I was really chuffed with the end result...

Guinness World Records...
Phew it's finally Friday! It has been a very hectic week and there have been A LOT of late nights to try and get stuff done but, I can finally take a mini breath! I've just handed in a short brief which was to produce 4 illustrations for Guinness World Records. They have 4 categories in which their records fall under; size, extraordinary, dedication and speed. Our project was to create illustrations to represent each of the categories. Here are my solutions...

Beautiful Edinburgh...
Disintegration...
The first project of my 3rd year studying Illustration, was to design a booklet based on a word we drew out of a hat. I picked "Disintegration." Rather than going for the obvious, I decided to go for something a bit different and look at quirky quotes to do with my chosen topic.

A Very Big Thank You...
After doing my work experience at WEC International I wanted to send the team and the in house designer Chris, cards to say a huge thank you for such a wonderful experience. I learnt so much about working on live briefs as well as more about myself as a designer. The most important lesson was that I do what I do for the "fun" and not the "fame." You don't have to be famous to be creative.

Whatever Happened to C.T. Studd's?
During my work experience at WEC International, I was given a brief to illustrate a book cover for a new publication about the founder of the organisation, as they head towards their centenary year in existence. I am ecstatic to say the publisher liked my design and the book is in print as we speak...so watch this space!

Gwyneth Paltrow - Notes from my Kitchen Table...
This summer whilst browsing the cookery section in my local library (as I do very often!) I came across a new cook book by Gwyneth Paltrow. I'm always a little dubious when it comes to cookery books by celebrities seeing as these days just about everyone has one! However, after a little flick through I thought I would take it home. There are some lovely recipes in there and it's nice to read a bit about where her influences come from too. The first thing that caught my eye was the recipe for Fish Tacos. It sounded really different and really delicious. So, after a quick jaunt to the shops for ingredients, I set about making the tasty feast for dinner.
I have to say that I varied the recipe slightly. So, we ended up, with battered haddock, corn tortillas, chopped gem lettuce (instead of salted cabbage), diced tomatoes (instead of salsa), lime mayo and fresh guacamole. The results were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by my mum and I. Can't wait to make some more things out of there!

Four Dwellings Christmas Concert...
My lovely sister recently asked me for a little favour. Would I design a poster, programme and tickets for the Christmas concert at her school this December and they all needed to be black and white for easy photocopying. I was more than happy to and snapped up the opportunity! It was really fun and hopefully it'll add a bit of seasonal fun to the proceedings!
